Shakotan Fire Festival

Shakotan in western Hokkaido is famous for its beautiful coastline and clear blue water. Many people go to Shakotan to visit the Cape Kamui, Hokkaido's only sea park. In the summer, it is well known for its Fire Festival which prays for fishermen to return home safely from sea and for big catches!

Make sure to try out uni (sea urchins) and sea kayaking!
