Grand Hirafu Lift Opening Postponed

The scheduled opening of Niseko's Grand Hirafu ski lift has been postponed due to lack of snowfall.

It's not great news for locals and early visitors to Niseko with the scheduled opening of the Grand Hirafu ski lifts being postponed due to lack of snow. The lifts were due to open tomorrow on November 23rd, with Grand Hirafu today making the announcement for the postpone on their Facebook page.

"Although we previously announced that Grand Hirafu will open for this year’s season on November 23, 2016, poor conditions due to insufficient snow cover have led us to the decision today to postpone," the post read.

While a new opening date has not been announced, Grand Hirafu has said they are continuing preparations for the season opening with a new opening date depending on snow cover conditions.
