With the opening of Grand Hirafu and Annupuri at the weekend, what better time to refresh on some very important things to remember when you're here in Niseko this winter season. With Niseko United comprising of four resorts on the one mountain, Niseko Annupuri, there's a lot of ground to cover and a lot of riders all wanting a piece of the action on the slopes. To keep you and everybody else safe on the mountain at all times, Niseko United has created the Niseko Rules. Whether it's your first time to Niseko or you've been coming here season after season, take note of the below list of rules to ensure you have a safe, fun and full season out on the slopes.

Areas marked in red are off-limits areas determined by the Niseko Rules. Entering those areas from the courses is dangerous and strictly prohibited.
Always use gates to step out of bounds. See back-side for gates descriptions. Please respect the Niseko Rules to ensure off-piste's freedom and safety.

Niseko Rules

1. OFF LIMIT AREAS are strictly NO ENTRY - AT ALL TIMES.

2. Crossing boundary ropes is prohibited. Those who violate the rules may be refused from using all resorts facilities.

3. No safety control & no patrol beyond resort boundaries.

4.If the gates are CLOSED, do not exit into the terrain beyond.

5. Daily NISEKO AVALANCHE INFORMATION is OFFCIAL Niseko Rules information.

6. Search and Rescue effects WILL BE CHARGED for incidents outside resort boundaries.

7. Obey Ski patrol's instructions at all times.

8. Children under 12 must refrain from going out of bounds unless accompanied by a proficient adult leader.

9. Niseko Resorts, and the local community respect the freedom of mountain users and place a strong emphasis on THE STAFF USAGE of the mountain.

Caution: Extra Essential Rules

  • Skiing or riding outside the ski resorts requires a high slill levels. The use of any areas outside the resort areas is at your OWN RISK and is your own RESPONSIBILITY.
  • Gates WILL BE CLOSED IN ADVERSE WEATHER AND SNOW CONDITIONS. By ducking ropes and crossing over ropes, your will not only be breaking the rules, but you also send the message to others, that your actions are OK encouraging other to folow.
  • Many avalanche accidents occur during a storm, when snowdrifts and cornices are develop and are unstable. Areas outside gates are not part of the Ski Resorts
