Swatch Nines Snow Comes to Niseko: Asia's First-Ever Edition
For decades, Swatch Nines has redefined what's possible on snow. In 2026, that energy arrives in Asia for the first time - and Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu is where it lands.
Niseko Tokyu Grand Hirafu will host the iconic event over April 6–11, with the public showcase taking place on Saturday April 11 (free access with a Grand Hirafu ski pass). Events are also confirmed for 2028, signalling a long-term commitment to Niseko as a global snowsports destination.
A Stage For Performance, Not Competition
Swatch Nines Snow is unlike anything in the traditional competition calendar. It brings together the world's top skiers and snowboarders not to race or score points, but to push creative boundaries on purpose-built snow structures. This year features over 50 riders, including multiple medalists from the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The 2026 course at Grand Hirafu will feature a striking setup, including a 50-metre rail, a big-air jump, and multiple flow sections. Athletes work with filmmakers to capture every angle, producing the kind of footage that redefines what is thought possible on snow.
Mini Nines: Ride It Yourself
In the lead up to the main event, Grand Hirafu's King Gondola will host the Mini Nines park, designed by the official Swatch Nines architects. Anyone with a Grand Hirafu lift pass can ride it - a rare chance to experience the same creative energy as the main event, on a course shaped by the same hands.
Community Rides
The final day of the event is open to the public, and it goes beyond spectating. The "Ride With Pro" community event gives local school children the chance to take part in small group sessions with Swatch Nines athletes. It's a rare, up-close opportunity for the next generation to share the snow with some of the best riders in the world.
