7 Things to Remember When Visiting Niseko in Spring

Spring is the most underrated time to visit Niseko and often the most rewarding. Make the most of your late season visit with this guide to those must-not-forget items.

1. Pack For The Snow

Just because the seasons are changing doesn't mean there's no snow. True, big snow dumps are fewer and further between, but overnight falls of 5-10 cm or even more are not completely uncommon, so make sure you've got the equipment needed to take on the snow.

2. And Pack For The Sun

Spring time in any ski resort is all about sunny days playing in the snow. And Niseko is as good as it gets when the sun comes out. Long groomers in the morning followed by a long lunch in the afternoon. Pack a pair of sunglasses for some après nibbles and drinks in the sparkling Niseko sunshine. This is bliss!

3. Choose Restaurants to Try

Spring in Niseko draws less crowds than winter, so lucky visitors can more easily find a table at Niseko's best restaurants. Great news, but this means you've got some research to do! Thankfully, we've got you covered with our Experience Niseko Restaurants & Bars directory. Check it out and start making your culinary shortlist today.

4. Book a Spring Guide or Take a Lesson

For advanced skiers or snowboarders, the absolute best way to experience Niseko's famous backcountry in spring is in the company of a spring guide. These experienced, local guides know the best spots across the Niseko Annupuri mountain range, and will safely guide you to a great day out in the spring sunshine. GoSnow are offering great deals on Spring Guiding, as well as on Group Lessons and Workshops in spring.

5. Find Out What's On

Make sure you check out our guide to What's On in March so that you don't miss a minute of the spring time action.

6. Book Your Transfer in Advance

Forgetting to book your airport transfers is an easy mistake to make and in a foreign country with, for most, a significant language barrier, not one we recommend making! Book your direct private or shared airport transfer through SkyExpress before you arrive.

7. Shout About It!

Spring is a great time to capture stunning photos of your friends and family shredding the slopes with Mt Yotei standing proudly in the background. So don't forget to share your Niseko experience on social media, tag us @experienceniseko and use #experienceniseko too!
