New in Niseko - 'Sixpack' King Lift #3

This winter welcomes the brand new six-seater King 'Sixpack' Lift #3 in Grand Hirafu. The upgrade to the King Quad Lift is a step forward in comfort on the mountain, and will increase transport capacity by 600 passengers per hour.

Levelling Up

This year's upgrade marks the continuing development of Niseko’s lift network. Back in 2016, King Triple Lift #3 was upgraded to a high-speed four seater to reduce mid-mountain congestion. But with visitor numbers climbing to record highs by the 2023/24 season, a larger and more efficient system became essential.

The project forms a central piece of Tokyu Land Corporation’s long-term “Value Up NISEKO 2030” initiative, a multi-year plan to modernise resort facilities and strengthen year-round tourism.

Faster, Smoother, Cosier

After Hirafu debuted its first with 2024's Ace Gondola, the resort now brings that same comfort with this new six-seater - offering warmer rides during cold powder days.

A motorised loading platform also aides beginners and children to board smoothly, keeping queues flowing efficiently.

Sustainability in Mind

Sustainability is at the forefront of Grand Hirafu's operations, with parts from the former lift system being reused for other improvements around the mountain, including the upcoming upgrade of Ace Lift #3 in 2026-27.

Fresh Company

The King 'Sixpack' Lift #3 is just one of many additions this Niseko season. New slope-side venues, NEST813 and ALPEN NODE, bring fresh dining and après to both ends of the Ace Gondola.
