Japan Airlines will be offering 100,000 free seats to foreign tourists on domestic routes between July and September 2020.

The campaign, run in conjunction with the Japan Tourism Agency and Japan National Tourism Organization, aims to reveal new and exciting parts of Japan that international tourists may not have seen before. The main target for this initiative is the wave of travelers visiting for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

When applying, entrants will be asked to select from three Japanese departure airports and will presented with a number of possible destinations for their return airfare. One of these locations will be selected for them upon being chosen as a winner. Winners are chosen on a first come first serve basis.

Applications for the giveaway will open in late February 2020 and are only for those who have signed up as a JAL Mileage Bank member and whose residence is outside of Japan. For conditions and details see the press release and also the official offer page at the JAL website.
