Conveniently located in the southwest corner of Hokkaido, Niseko is approximately 100km from Sapporo (the 5th largest city in Japan) and 110km from New Chitose Airport. From the airport, there are a range of great transfer options including train, bus or private transfer.

Transfers
There are many options for arriving by road from New Chitose Airport, however, most people choose to take a private or public bus or taxi, particularly in winter when driving in snowy conditions can be hazardous.
We recommend that people only self-drive in winter if they are experienced drivers in extreme snowy conditions. It is also worth noting that parking is very limited in Niseko during winter.

Car Rental
Recommended during the summer only, car rental services are available at New Chitose Airport and Niseko Area by Nippon Rent-A-Car and Toyota Rent-A-Car. Please ensure to check directly with the company their requirements for international driver's license and documentation to rent a car.

Rail
Niseko can be reached by train from New Chitose Airport via Otaru. Make sure to get off at Kutchan Station where most accommodation providers will arrange a pick up for you. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the station to Niseko-Hirafu.

Ferries
