H Restaurant + Bar – Modern Cultural Feast

H Restaurant + Bar is Niseko’s delicious Japanese style Chinese fusion restaurant which uses Hokkaido's finest ingredients. Enjoy the modern cuisine, bursting with flavour in a sophisticated yet comfortable and relaxing setting. Conveniently located in Hyatt House Niseko, H Restaurant is easily accessible for lunch or dinner after a day on the slopes. We tried it out!
Fresh and Fine Starters
For starters, the complimentary prawn crackers and tasty dipping sauces allow you to crunch your way into a delightful evening ahead. The Niseko-grown vegetable soup was a warm and welcome entrée. Rich in flavour and hearty, we certainly recommend it for a nutritious winter starter.
Winter Warming Dishes
The Wagyu Sirloin was also a standout main dish on the menu and highlight of the H Restaurant meal. Big enough to share, the wagyu was cooked perfectly medium-rare as requested and sliced like butter. It was just salty enough without being overbearing and with enough delicious, slightly crispy fat to feel like a real treat! The accompanying vegetables paired well and the teriyaki sauce (one of three options) was perfectly matched to the smooth, creamy texture of the wagyu.
The Xiao Long Bao were also great. A very 'full' dumpling, meat-y and balanced well with the soup inside. Three portions for ¥750 is good value too, as it's a big appetiser for one person. Great for sharing.
The Vegetables and Tofu in Spicy Soya Bean Miso & Shiitake Sauce was a very tasty dish for the vegetarians! The flavoursome and generous portion of spicy sauce gives this hearty dish qualities of both a soup and stew dish, perfect for a warming meal. The tofu melts in your mouth and was complimented by the contrasting lotus root texture.
A Treat to Keep you Sweet
Save some space after starters and mains, as you’re in for an absolute treat with the dessert options. Try the delicious Matcha Mousse served with biscotti for a uniquely Japanese inspired dessert. The Hokkaido honeydew melon pudding with coconut cream was presented with such aesthetic care that we paused to admire its plating before tucking into the fruity goodness. For a taste-bud transportation to tropical destinations, try the classic coconut ice-cream with home-made tapioca.
There’s also a great selection of beverages to accompany your meal. Try pairing it with craft beers, signature cocktails or their Sommelier’s wine recommendations. You can also indulge in the premium Champagne selection – Veuve Clicquot Extra Old, Don Ruinart 2006 and Dom Perignon 2008. The Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label is from ¥1,800/glass or enjoy the Happy Hour 50% discount on all beverages!
Experience this locally infused, culturally inspired dining at H Restaurant with their 1 Year Anniversary promotion - “Dim Sum all you can eat”. At ¥3,000 per person, guests can enjoy homemade Dim Sum dishes. Available only for Lunch – 11:30am till 2:30pm (last order 2pm) from now until 15 December 2019.
